Lumber product pricing and availability.
Framing lumber continues to wallow around – the fact is that framing lumber remains in the vicinity of two-thirds of last year’s levels. OSB and plywood items also remain low compared to the last couple of years, however, their pricing is creeping upwards.
The supply of cedar fencing items has improved dramatically, paralleling a decrease in that category’s cost.
I- joists and LVL’s took another price decrease in April – we believe those prices will not stabilize for a while.
Most products have great availability, especially when compared to the last 2-3 years. While even under the best circumstances there are certain shortages, supply issues have evaporated for the most part.
Overall, slow business, a delay in summer weather settling in, economic factors – like higher interest rates and generous supply are all factoring into generally lower or stable prices across all wood products.
